Traveling to Montauk
Montauk is located at the eastern tip of Long Island. While it feels like a destination getaway, it is accessible by car, train, or ferry.
By Car
Montauk is approximately:
2.5–3 hours from NYC (traffic dependent)
1.5–2 hours from JFK or LaGuardia
Take the Long Island Expressway (I-495 East) to Exit 70, then follow Route 111 South and Route 27 East all the way to Montauk.
Parking is available at most hotels and in public lots throughout town.
By Train (LIRR)
The Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) runs to Montauk Station from Penn Station and Grand Central Madison.
Travel time: approximately 3–3.5 hours
Some routes require a transfer at Jamaica
Taxis and ride shares are available from the station.
By Ferry
For guests traveling from New England, ferries are a convenient option:
Orient Point Ferry (Cross Sound Ferry)
Connects Orient Point, NY to New London, CT.
From Orient Point, Montauk is about a 45–60 minute drive.
Port Jefferson Ferry
Connects Port Jefferson, NY to Bridgeport, CT.
From Port Jefferson, Montauk is approximately a 1.5–2 hour drive.
Reservations are strongly recommended, especially for vehicles.
By Air
The closest major airports are:

Long island MacArthur Airport (ISP)
From the airports, guests can rent a car or take the LIRR into Manhattan and connect to the Montauk line.
Getting Around Montauk
Uber, Lyft, and local taxis are available but can be limited late at night
Walking and biking are easy within the village
Car rentals or car service are recommended for guests staying outside town
